Hello there and welcome to Four Legged Fancies!

I created 'Four Legged Fancies' as I am obviously dog mad, but more importantly I was concerned about the junk that goes into some pet foods. Many dog treats on the market might look nice and tasty but many of them contain high amounts of sugar, salt, preservatives and poor quality animal by-products all of which can lead to an unhealthy pooch.

All of my treats are made with healthy, natural ingredients and kept as low fat as possible with no added sugar, salt, butter or preservatives. I use 'non-wheat' flour such as oat, barley, rye and spelt flour as an alternative to normal wheat flour, please see my 'ingredient no-no's' to see my discussion on wheat.

I think the best part of treating your dogs is not only doing it with something tasty but also with something that is fun for the owner, this is why most of my treats are a bit barmy such as my 'Bangers N' Mash pupcakes' or my 'Doggy Donuts'. These treats make fun and original gifts for dog owners and are a great way to say 'Thank You' or 'Happy Birthday' to a special doggy mad friend!

My love for dogs started early as my family have trained Guide Dogs for over 30 yrs and I was surrounded by playful puppies from a young age. Throughout my life I have always worked with animals in one sense or another be it as a Jaguar rehabilitator in Bolivia or as a search dog handler for the National bats and wind turbines project here in the UK (see the beautiful search dog Ozzie above).
